Kristi Noem, US Secretary for Internal Security, announced on Thursday the immediate revocation of the Harvard program for international students and academic exchanges (SEVP). Following this decision, the prestigious American university can no longer enroll foreign students.

According to Kristi Noem, Harvard University refused to convey to the government requested information, “perpetuating a dangerous environment in campus and hostile to Jewish students”, encouraging pro-Hamas sympathies and using racist policies of “diversity, equity”, AFP, quoted by Agerpres.

In order to obtain the suspension of this decision, the University filed a complaint on the Federal Court in Massachusetts on Friday morning, and the court won the case.

Harvard claimed that the government's action violates the first amendment of the US Constitution and will have a “Immediate and devastating effect on Harvard and over 7,000 visa holders.”
