Ukraine gave Russia a list of prisoners of war as part of the planned exchange of 1000 per 1000 – said a representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence Hur Andrij Jusow on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday, the President of Ukraine Wołodymyr Zelanski conducted a meeting to prepare a exchange of prisoners with Russia.

“The agreement on the release of 1000 of our citizens from Russian captivity was perhaps the only real result of the meeting in Turkey. We are working on this result to be achieved” – wrote Zelanski on a telegram. (https://tinyurl.com/hmx4fu49)

“We collect information about each person on lists provided by the Russian side. This is one of the key tasks of Ukraine – to bring out all our citizens from Russian captivity. I am grateful to everyone who helps” – summed up the president.

On May 16, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the head of the Ukrainian delegation in Istanbul Rust Rust Diedzov said after meeting representatives of the Russian authorities that the parties agreed to the exchange of prisoners of war in 1000 out format for 1000.

On Saturday, the head of Hur Kyryło Budanov to the Ukrainian television information service (TSN) said that such an exchange may occur next week.

Reuters passed, citing the Russian interfax agency, that Russia received a list of names with 1000 prisoners of war from Ukraine, whom Kiev wants to release as part of the largest exchange so far. (PAP)
