In the last week before Roland Garros, Alexander Zverev went to his hometown to play at Hamburg Open. In the first round, the world number 3 imposed in two sets, 6-1, 7-6 (5), in front of Aleksandar Kovacevic (26 years, 80 ATP).

Alexander Zverev, after defeat: “I think there are only two players in the world who would have entered the field today.”
However, between the first and second match in Hamburg, Zverev went through difficult times. He took an infection and had a fever, feeling extremely bad. The 28 -year -old player slept in his parents' house and woke up later, reaching a two -hour delay in training.
Then on the ground, though he fought for two hours and 42 minutes, Zverev was defeated in three sets by Alexandre Muller: 3-6, 6-4, 6-7 (5). At the end of the game, the German revealed the problems he faced.
“I think today, considering that I vomited 37 times and had a fever all night, I did pretty well. I think there are only two players worldwide who would have entered the field today, and I am one of them. So I have to say, I'm pretty proud“, Said Zverev, quoted by Bild.
“I felt pretty ok. Obviously, things became more difficult on the field. When I play in one position, it's ok, but when I have to run, it is difficult. At a certain time, I realized that I do not feel well and played as long as possible. It was smart on him, obviously. Then, at another point, I lacked energy.
I think if there was a 500-point tour in another country, I would probably not have come out on the ground. Maybe it's a good thing I have 3-4 days to manage pain. Then I hope I can play a good tennis in Paris“He added.
After the victory against Zverev, Alexandre Muller will take place in the quarterfinals with the Canadian Felix Auger-aliassime (24 years, 30 ATP). He also played in the previous round with a tennis player from France, Giovanni Mpeshi Perricard (21 years old, 32 ATP), and won 6-2, 6-4.
