“The Normal Supérieure leadership expresses all its congratulations to Nicușor Dan, former student of the school, elected on Sunday, May 18, 2025, as President of Romania,” the prestigious educational institution in Paris said in a press release.
According to the CV of the chosen president, Nicușor Dan was a student between 1992 and 1995, then made a master's degree and a doctorate in mathematics in Paris.
“Admitted by the International Competition of ENS in 1992, gold medalist at the International Mathematics Olympiad, he later returned, after supporting his doctoral thesis in mathematics, in Romania, where he co-founded and led, among other things, normal supplieure École in Bucharest,” the educational institution states.
Normal Supérieure École emphasizes that “its course reflects at the highest level all the values promoted by ENS: international openness, academic excellence and commitment in the service of society”.
Normal Supérieure (ENS) is one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in France and Europe, famous for its academic excellence and for the formation of the French intellectual and scientific elite.
