Allegations against Paweł K. for cooperation with Russian intelligence


The suspect, identified as Paweł K., was detained in April 2024 thanks to the cooperation of Polish and Ukrainian investigators. He faces a penalty of up to eight years in prison.
According to prosecutors, the man declared his readiness to act for Russian military intelligence and made contact with people directly involved in the war in Ukraine.
“These activities were to serve, among others, planning a possible assassination of the life of the President of Ukraine by Wołodymyr Zelnski” by the Russian special services “ – the prosecutor's office reported in a statement.
Among the tasks of Paweł K. was to collect and provide information on the security of the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport in south-eastern Poland-added.
Poland claims that it has become one of the main goals of the Russian intelligence. Warsaw accuses Moscow and her ally – Belarus – of a destabilizing actions, which the Kremlin has repeatedly denied.
