Every summer resident knows how difficult it is to fight weeds. But these annoying plants can benefit. Instead of throwing out the weeded grass, prepare a valuable fertilizer that will saturate the soil with nutrients and improve the growth of cultivated plants.
Here's what you need to do:
The first step is the collection of raw materials. Any weeds are suitable, nettle, dandelion, wheatfoot and clover are especially useful. The main condition is that plants should be without seeds in order to avoid their distribution in the site. It is better to use young shoots, as they decompose faster.
Next, prepare the container. A plastic or wooden barrel with a volume of 50-100 liters is perfect. Metal containers are not recommended, as they can oxidize. The container must be installed in a sunny place – heat will speed up the fermentation process.
Grind the weeds And compare tightly, filling the container by about two -thirds. Then pour water, leaving 10-15 cm to the edge, since when fermentation, the volume of the liquid will increase.
Then cover the container lid or film, leaving a small gap for gas exchange. After 10-14 days, the infusion will be ready. Readiness is determined by the cessation of the release of foam and a characteristic smell resembling manure.
Dilute the finished infusion with water in a ratio of 1:10 and use for watering plants under the root. The remaining mass can be added to compost or used as mulch.
