“We need to understand the message of the electorate,” says one of the most important voices in the Social Democratic Party, Robert Negoiță, who claims that, after 15 years of government, the PSD also needs “an electoral cycle in opposition, for the health of democracy and the party.”
“It is not, in any case, a run of responsibility, on the contrary, it is an assumption of the decisions that are required. The Social Democratic Party must demonstrate maturity and real desire to fight to repair what does not work inside it, so that it can work efficiently in the interest of the people in our country,” he wrote on Monday, and on Monday.
“There are almost 15 years in which, with small exceptions, the PSD has been to the government. For the health of democracy and the party, there is also a need for an electoral cycle in opposition,” the mayor of S3 considers.
What Robert Negoiță says:
- “And I think that's what we need to do now. Not to run away, not to isolate ourselves politically, but to be proactive and constructive.
- The need and obligation to go into opposition is also a way to disarm those who claim that PSD is just a party that clings to power.
- I want a reformed PSD, responsible and not to leave the impression of a gang that runs after functions.“
Marcel Ciolacu announced his resignation from the position of PSD president, during the informal meeting of the social-democratic leadership that took place at Vila Lac, sources for Hotnews said.
For now, only Marcel Ciolacu has given up the position of the PSD leadership, not making another decision regarding the other members of the management. The official announcement of the resignation will be made in the meeting of the National Council, which will start on Tuesday at 13.00.
Marcel Ciolacu announced to his colleagues that he resigned from the PSD leadership. The decision will be officially announced on Tuesday
Ciolacu's resignation comes in the context in which Nicușor Dan won the presidential elections, and in the following days he must designate a candidate for the position of prime minister, a position from which Ciolacu has already resigned on May 5, the day after the first round of elections.
Also Monday, Constantin Toma, the mayor of PSD from Buzau who voted with Nicușor Dan and condemned that the PSD did not support a candidate in the presidential final, said that “none of the current leadership” should take over the position of the party, as “my party invited, practically, to vote with George Simion”.
He was asked, at Antena 3, who could be the new leader of the PSD, set to choose between Sorin Grindeanu, Bogdan Ivan or Daniel Băluţă.
“None of the current leadership. They all contributed to the situation of Romania, first of all, and then to the situation of the party. Because you cannot stay neutral when it comes to democracy or fascism. And my party has practically invited to vote with George Simion. And, God, help, this is not the case. It goes like this, it will self -destruct, “said Constantin Toma.
The mayor of Buzau claimed, however, that the PSD should enter the government because “big reforms” must be made.
