Job Gorosnik
Job, whose memory is celebrated on this day, is a Christian saint, considered the greatest righteous, a model of faith and patience.
Although the peas began to sow on Egoria, it was Job that was nicknamed Gorosnik. On this day they said: “Come to work for white peas.” In Rus', peas and beans were available to everyone – even the poor. It was not for nothing that there was a saying to “stay on the beans.” Another saying related to legumes indicates that they have been bred for a very long time: “It was during the time of King Gorokh.”
