The leader of the PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, also congratulated Nicușor Dan to win the presidential elections, by a message on Facebook, and said that “the Romanians again proved to the world that, in the most difficult times, they know how to overcome the economic, social or political differences and to be united in the face.”
Although the count has not yet been completed, the difference in votes between Nicușor Dan and George Simion, in favor of the independent candidate, is greater than the number of votes remaining.
“I congratulate Nicușor Dan for the victory and especially congratulate the Romanians in the country and in the diaspora, because their massive presence will give the future president an increased legitimacy. The Romanians again proved to the world that, in the most difficult times, they know how to go over the economic, social or political differences,”
The PSD leader believes that “the result of today's choices shows clearly that Romania needs reconciliation and reconstruction”.
“I hope that the new president will establish his priority not only to be honest towards Romanians, but also to try to unite the nation and offer solutions to uniform the degree of economic and social development of the country's communities. We have only one Romania and we must all take care of it!”, Concluded Marcel Ciolacu.
