The Colorado beetle is an unwanted guest for gardeners. He can destroy potato plantings in a matter of days, despite all efforts and processing. However, nature came up with effective ways to solve this problem. There are plants whose smell and properties scare away the pest.
Here are some of them:
The first plant is calendula. Its bright flowers not only decorate the garden, but also distinguish specific substances that the beetle does not tolerate. Plant it around the perimeter of the potato field to create a natural barrier. The second assistant – horseradish. Its sharp aroma knocks down the pest, masking the smell of potatoes. Just a few bushes between the rows are enough to reduce the interest of the beetle in landings. The third plant is Bobs. They not only enrich the soil with nitrogen, but also scare away the Colorado beetle at the expense of their natural insecticidal properties.
These three plants work as natural defenders, reducing the need for chemical treatments. Their combination creates an invisible shield that the beetle prefers to go around a kilometer.
Earlier it was reported which tool can solve three problems in the country at once.
