Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was amused when asked what advice would give the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz before his first white house visit and replied that he cannot help because he is not a psychologist, informs the DPA agency, quoted by Agerpres.
“I do not necessarily feel qualified to act as a psychologist for international leaders,” joked Meloni, visibly amused by the question that was asked on Saturday, after her meeting with Merz.
Meloni added that Merz, a former millionaire lobbyist, is “a great experience.”
However, Meloni is sometimes perceived as the “Trump's tanner” in Europe, because it seems to have a very good relationship with the US president. From Trump's electoral victory in November, the two met four times.
Meloni has noticed that Trump is a politician who defends the interests of the US and respects the politicians who defend their national interests.
“I think each of us must first clarify what their own national interests are. I'm sure Friedrich Merz will do this,” she said.
