The Polish Teachers' Association (ZNP) asked the Ministry of National Education for the abolition of availability hours from the new school year 2025/2026. Currently, teachers are obliged to be at school for 1 hour a week above the lessonand in the case of those employed in less than half a full -time time – 1 hour every two weeks, during which they consult for students, pupils or their parents, adapting to their needs.

“We believe that the so -called black hours is a behind -the -scene increase in the mandatory pension of teachers' classes, without guaranteeing the right to adequate remuneration in this respect. They are an example of bureaucratization and imposing additional procedural obligations on teachers ” – reads in the letter of Sławomir Broniarz, the president of the ZNP.

The President of the Union assures in a letter to the Ministry of National Education that Teachers have never refused to consultand the practice of functioning of the education system units did not indicate that there were signals about difficulties with enforcing the abovementioned duty from teachers.

“They have passed three years since this provision is introduced. Teachers evaluate this record negatively and see the benefits of availability hours. According to the ZNP survey, conducted on May 7-11, 2025, in which 12,469 teachers and teachers took part, the vast majority of respondents believe that:: Availability hours did not facilitate contact between school and parentsparents of pupils and schoolgirls do not use accessibility hours and the pupils themselves do not use accessibility hours. And only in the middle of the facilities there are conditions for the implementation of availability hours (separate room), so the availability hours should be liquidated ” – we read in the letter.
