Hamas is ready to give power in the Gaza Strip and conducts direct talks with the USA, but the initial condition of all agreements is to restore the supplies of humanitarian aid, “one of the leaders of the Palestinian movement said on Thursday.

“Any conversations about negotiations are meaningless as long as the gauze zone is empty by hunger and bombing on the other,” it was emphasized in Naim's statement cited by the AFP agency. It has been added that the minimum condition for “creating an environment conducive to negotiations” is Israel bypassed humanitarian aid blocked at the beginning of March.

Israel resumed on March 18 fighting after almost two months of suspension of weapons to force Hamas to free the hostages and adopt their conditions for the extension of the truce.

Hamas declares that he is ready for an agreement, but it must assume the end of the war, which was provided for by preliminary findings. Israel rejected them, because such a solution does not guarantee Hamas disarmament and to remove it from power in the Gaza Strip. The government emphasizes that the purpose of the war is to release hostages and destroy Hamas.

Naim repeated the assurances presented earlier by some Hamas members that the group is ready to give power in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the end of the war. Most of the group leaders, however, opposed its disarmament, which Israel also demands.

In recent days, the media informed about growing tensions between the authorities of Israel and the USA, which press the rapid suspension of weapons. On Monday, Hamas freed the last living hostage with American citizenship, Edan Alexander, presenting this as a gesture of good will to Trump, who travels around the Middle East. According to the media, the release of Alexander was agreed between the USA and Hamas by intermediaries, without Israel's participation.

Naim said that Hamas is directly negotiating the US about the end of the war. Washington had previously denied this type of reports.
