The Minister of Finance, Tanczos Barna, accused on Thursday that the gold leader, George Simion, lied when he claimed that in June, the European funds for Romania will be suspended. The government official transmitted, in a video message published on Facebook, that it was two days ago in EcoFin and there it was confirmed that Romania is going to receive the third payment in the PNRR, of 1.3 billion euros.
“Romania does not need a liar president. George Simion today lied to Romanians, saying that in June the European funds will be suspended for Romania. He lied to Romanians, as he lied to him when he promised them houses with 35,000 euros. And when he was caught with the lie, he said that it is only a public marketing.”
“George Simion lies to the Romanians and upsets the economic environment,” Tanczos Barna also accused.
He states that, unlike George Simion, he was “two days ago in Ecofin, and there was confirmed” that Romania will receive the third payment in the PNRR, on June 10.
“As for the suspension of the funds, they depend each time on the commitments of Romania assumed on the Commission. They depend on reforms, they depend on the fiscal reform, for example, which must be delivered by a responsible government, a responsible Parliament. All parliamentary parties know that Romania needs in the future close to a fiscal reform and this must be delivered to the European Commission. Credible, serious ”, said the Minister of Finance, quoted by News.ro.
According to Tanczos Barna, a possible suspension of European funds in any Member State is a very long procedure and certainly Romania will not reach such a situation.
“We all have a huge responsibility. We have to stop the lie, we have to stop misinformation and we have to stop the effect Simion. I saw what Georgescu effect means in Romania, I saw a week ago what the effect of Simion means, how the course increased and how the interest in Romania increased.
George Simion, on Thursday in Brussels, published on Facebook a message claiming that “from the unserious governments, EcoFin will stop our funds in June.” Ecofin consists of the ministers of economics and finances from all Member States of the European Union.
