The national men's handball team finds its opponents from the 2026 European Championship during Thursday, May 15th. The draw began at 8:00 pm and can be watched on YouTube and LiveText on GSP.ro.
On Thursday, May 15, in Herning, Denmark, the European Handball Federation organized the lots of groups from the European Championship of 2026, which will take place in Denmark, Norway and Sweden, from January 15 to February 1.

Romania, qualified a second time in a row at the European Men's Handball Championship
In the preliminary groups stage, Romania gathered 2 victories (29-26 vs. Israel, 28-24 vs. Portugal), one equal (29-29 vs. Israel) and 3 defeats (30-37 vs. Portugal, 27-28 and 29-30 vs. Poland). With a total of 5 points, the tricolors ranked third in Group 8 and obtained the second consecutive qualification at the European Handball Championship.
Teams qualified at Euro 2026: Denmark, Norway and Sweden (host countries), France, en-Titre champion, Portugal, Holland, Faroe islands, Spain, Montenegro, Georgia, Germany, Czech Republic Serbia
