Daniel Niculae (42 years old), the president of FC Hermannstadt, spoke about the future of coach Marius Măldărășanu (50 years) on the team, after the Betano Romanian Cup final in front of CFR Cluj, score 2-3.
The technician's understanding with the Sibiu band expires at the end of this season, and Măldărășanu's name appeared on the list of several teams, but Daniel Nicual is convinced that his former colleague from Rapid will remain in Hermannstadt.

FC Hermannstadt's president analyzed the final of the Romanian Cup, lost to the limit, but wanted to congratulate the team for this season.
“Any failure is stinging in a final. And if you lose 1-0 and if you lose 5-0 it is just as stinging. Unfortunately, when you play against a team like CFR, if you make gifts they take advantage of them immediately, there has been the difference.
After we succeeded in the first half to score the 2-1 goal, we were not allowed to receive that goal at the beginning of the second half. I think we made a better half, we created opportunities, we managed to register the goal 2, to put pressure at the end of the match, but there were many time draws.
We also had some occasions in which we could register, to take the match in the extensions. We are disappointed, but I am proud of what the boys and staff have done. I am also proud of the supporters of Sibiu who were present in Arad in very large numbers. I want to congratulate everyone, it was an excellent season.
Too bad we couldn't bring the cup to Sibiu, but we take it back in the summer and hope the next season to play another final and this time we win it.
A final is won, it does not play. You can play very well and lose. There is only one match, it matters very little the difference in value between the 2 finalists. I am proud of my boys, in the second half we managed to produce a good game and it is disappointing that we could not equal.
