The interim president of Romania, Ilie Bolojan, told Antena 1 on Tuesday that he agrees to assume all responsibility to be part of a government formula to give a stable government, according to News.ro. Bolojan pointed out that the formation of a stable parliamentary majority is difficult, as the Romanian Parliament is “political sprayed”, and no party has a share of more than 23%.
“We are in the situation where, in order to form a stable majority practically-because only a government can go through this difficult period that will follow-must be made up of 3-4 parties. This is an important condition,” said Bolojan.
He also stated that he is willing to assume full responsibility to be part of a government formula to give a stable government, but he stressed that not only the prime minister matters, but the entire government team.
“I agree that both myself and the party I represented until this period of interim, has the responsibility for having contributed to this unpleasant situation in which it is Romania, not to desert from this front of liability and to participate in this negotiation and I agree to assume all the responsibility to be part of a government,”
“You can have a very good prime minister, but if the Minister of Transport is not performing or the one from Finance is not performing, one does not finish your highways, the other burials you financially, and at the end things come out bad,” Bolojan said.
The interim president added that Romania quickly needs a majority to support a prime minister, considering that at present the country is led by an interim government.
“We have an interim prime minister at the moment, which I do not think is good, but this is the situation in which our country is found. Immediately after these elections it is necessary, because we have a time pressure, to form a parliamentary majority to support a prime minister.
