Academician Irinel Popescu, confirmed on Monday night on Midika TV that his image was used to propagate false information about anti-Covid vaccines. He announced that he started “some legal efforts” in this regard, writes News.ro.
The doctor explained that he does not know who and for what purpose someone made “such fakes”, which misinforms the population.
“Post true means a total confusion of news that fights in the head, that the man who follows such news does not know what to believe. And I think this is the purpose. A lie is dismantled, not a big problem, after all things are clarified, but a confusion is much harder,” Irinel Popescu said.
He said that those who want to be properly informed must make an additional effort during this period to distinguish the truth of the lie, “so that they remain with a clear mind, with some well -established things to use.”
The Ministry of Health warned, on Friday, in connection with a series of false medical information distributed in the public space and on social networks, information that cited doctor Irinel Popescu talking about “walking dead” and alleged health effects following the administration of the vaccine against Covid-19.
The images and texts on this topic, “including the information that Professor Irinel Popescu has lost his life, are false, many of them being made with AI technologies,” the Ministry of Health said.
