Communication experts explain, in an analysis for “Adevărul”, what the two candidates in Cotroceni, Nicușor Dan and George Simion, do in the short time. Each of them should correct certain things, explains the analysts contacted by “Adevărul”.

George Simion has won a categorical victory in the first round of elections and there is a high probability to become the future president of Romania. This does not mean that Nicușor Dan has no chance, although it is obvious that his mission will not be simple.
Mutations that could change the fate of elections
“The first and the first thing you should do would be to secure their crisis votes. I mean an exemplary mobilization of those who did not come to the vote. He needs not one, but two million more votes, which we sometimes call crisis votes. to those who did not come to the vote.”, Says the analyst Cristian Hrițuc, regarding the independent candidate.
Another challenge for Nicușor Dan would be to find messages for the PSD supporters and convince them to put the stamp on his behalf. A simple mission, taking into account the past.
Must learn to address the PSD electorate
“A second message, he should come now and also give messages for the social-democratic electorate, which is not yet known how he will play. And to ensure that he will not divide the Romanians. To be convincing and honest when he will be the president of all Romanians. Considering that Nicușor Dan has so far addressed to his electorate in big cities, he will now be obliged not to neglect those in the small urban and villages, according to the specialist.
At the same time, at a time when the overwhelming majority voted against the coalition until yesterday at the buttons, Nicușor Dan should assure people that he does not really come from the system, but is against.

“He has to have a message to make them aware that he has an opposition message here. The way Romania has been governed has created non-unitary development. Non-unitary development means that there is certainly a better life in big cities, and things are much worse in small cities and in the rural area. It must be restored. The rural environment, where Nicușor Dan was not present now, must be corrected ””consider Hrițuc.

Above all, Nicușor Dan has to learn to speak in the language of the many, but especially he needs around him to help him convey his message to all the environments.
“It needs casual figures, but from all the environments. It no longer arrives with university professors, doctors and other intellectuals. It needs TIR drivers who are pro-European. It needs the famous athletes who made Romania proud abroad, needs actors, singers of all kinds of musical, who are addressed to all. He must show that he needs and that he has votes and sympathy from all environments, not only in the intellectual environment or the elite of society. Because he will not be the president of the intellectuals, will be the president of those who are struggling from one day to another with a small company, employees with average and small salaries, unemployed, people that no one has listened to. What should George Simion do
On the other side, George Simion has the advantage of round 1, which does not provide the position of president and will have to confirm in the 2nd confidence of the Romanians. Communication expert Radu Enache believes that George Simion was wrong when he reacted harshly to Victor Ponta, signaling that he would not need the help of the former prime minister. His approach wanted to show that he does not want to collaborate with representatives of the former or current system, but he can deprive him of essential votes. But on the other hand, for a certain electorate can be a positive signal, the expert believes.
“There are two attitudes. Either the one who says who is not with me is against me, or who is not against me. In this context, George Simion should have said that who is not against him. Unfortunately, I have the impression that Nicușor Dan took him before the message of this type“, Says Enache.
On the other hand, this apparent error could be transformed into an argument, if George Simion knows how to continue the problem.

Except for this mistake, which can be transformed into an argument for George Simion, the gold leader seems to know very well what to do. Even so, the electoral confrontations with Nicușor Dan do not bring too many points, considers Radu Enache.
“After me, for example, it was a mistake that he agreed to go in debates with Nicușor Dan. Why? Because it is clear that Nicușor Dan has more lightness and feels better in a formal setting of a debate than George Simion, whose messages are devoid of nuances. Urban.says the expert.
Instead, George Simion proceeded correctly in the first round, when he refused the debates and should do the same now, is Radu Enache's advice.
“If George Simion was not in the first round of debates, and then it was a smart move, I think it should not be done now. Radu Enache's advice is that George Simion is as active as possible in the last days. “I think the best thing he has to do these days, how much they are left until the elections, is to run around the country with Tiktok after him and with social networks after him. To talk to the people, to be honest as he is and to touch the basic audience or the part of the public, which may not be, to be done, important for each of the two is now not to make big mistakes“Adds Enache.
In addition, he should avoid entering with Nicușor Dan.
“There is no point in entering with Nicușor Dan. As a politician, although he is younger, George Simion is superior. And he is the kind of honest man, and people feel this, I feel when someone is false and speaks false, trying to seduce them, as Nicușor Dan does, after ever, he has to keep his problems. undecided ”says Radu Enache.
What happened in the first round
In the first round of the presidential elections held on May 5, George Simion and Nicușor Dan were the candidates who attracted the most votes from the voters. George Simion, the golden leader, was preferred by 3,862,761 Romanians, which represents 40.96% of the total votes expressed.
In the second place was Nicușor Dan, an independent candidate supported by the USR, who received 1,979,767 votes, ie 29.99% of the electorate options. The difference between the two candidates is significant – almost 20 percent, ie 1,882,994 votes.
To reduce this difference and have real chances in the second round, Nicușor Dan could try to attract Crin Antonescu and Victor Ponta's supporters, which would bring over 3 million additional votes. Another strategy would be to convince the voters who did not show up at the ballot box to vote in the decisive tour.
Meanwhile, a poll published by Nicușor Dan's team indicates a slight change in the electorate options for the second round, scheduled for May 18. According to the research conducted by Verifield, George Simion remains a leader in voting intentions, with 38.9%, but this result marks a decrease of two percent compared to the score obtained in the first round. In contrast, Nicușor Dan grew up in the preferences of voters, reaching 31.3%, about 1.5 percent more than in the first voting round.
