Actor Mihai Mălaimare denounced on Sunday a wave of insults and threats received in the last days, which he considers completely unjustified, according to the controversial statements he made, after which his show from Iași was suspended by the University of Arts.

“There are no easy days for me, even if I know I was accused and I had to support an invective concert that I was rarely given, doubled by countless threats of terrible violence, almost incorrect for me, even though nothing amazes me for a good time,” Mălaimi said in a message.

The actor added that, despite this tense context, he also received solidarity and support signals, including from the students who collaborated with him.

“There were countless encouragement signals from you, all my friends and this makes me resist. But I was extremely pleasantly surprised by some phones of some of the students I worked with on the project and this makes me even optimistic about the perspective.”

Mihai Mălaimare also said that he has confidence in a clear judgment that will lead to unlocking the situation created by what he considers to be “an abusive order to interrupt the shows”.

Suspended show

The University of Arts in Iasi announced on Saturday the suspension of the play “At the edge of Copou”, in which the actor Mihai Mălaimare also played, after he wrote on Facebook: “The tour comes as a huge wave and you will reach the channel, or to the channel!”.

The management of the institution stressed that it condemns any extremist type manifestation.

Actor Mihai Mălaimare wrote on Saturday on Facebook that “he is sidelaged by the extent of the reactions and the abusive interpretation that was given to his post.”

The students asked to stop collaboration with Mălaimare

The students of the University of Iasi reacted, asking to stop the collaboration with the actor Mihai Mălaimare.

“We express our profound concern for the appearance of extremist messages in the public space, coming from a person with whom the National University of George Iaşi collaborates. We consider that such positions are incompatible with the European, democratic and cultural values that our university promotes (…). Any didactic or artistic collaboration with Mr. Mihai Mălaimare ”, the student representatives said.

Actor Mihai Mălaimare, supporter of gold and leaders Călin Georgescu and George Simion, wrote on Facebook after the first round of presidential elections: “You did not want the second tour! The tour comes as a huge wave and you will reach the channel, or to the channel!”.

Subsequently, he deleted the posting following the criticisms made at his address.
