Polsa spokeswoman Agnieszka Gapys informed PAP that the last flight of the Cosmos 482 probe over the European sensor “NAstieśł at 08.04 CEST (Central European Summer Time, i.e. Central European summer time, in force in Poland), which is adopted as a center of deorbitation window, with uncertainty +/- 20 min. “

The next flight of the Cosmos 482 probe over European sensors was expected at approx. 9.50.
“Currently, the facility has not been recorded by available data sources in Europe, which means that it has entered the atmosphere of the Earth” – Polish donated.
As emphasized in the announcement, at the moment “There are no signals that the object can enter the atmosphere of the land over Poland“.
The USSR launched the Cosmos probe 482 – 53 years ago, in 1972 as part of the mission at Venus. Due to the failure, the ship never reached this planet. Since then, the probe circled in the Earth's orbit, gradually lowering the height.

It was anticipated that the probe would survive re -entering the earthly atmosphere, because it was built to withstand the flight through a carbon dioxide atmosphere of Venus.
According to the Polsa Space Safety Department, the building weighed 495 kg.
