The mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, the independent candidate qualified in the second round of the presidential elections in Romania, reacted on Thursday night, after the Electoral debate from Euronews with his counter -candidate, to the election of the new leader of the Catholic Church. “The world needs a messenger of peace, balance and a moral guide based on Christian values,” wrote the mayor, greeting the choice of the new Pope.
“I welcome the choice of the new Pope Leon XIV, and I am with the Catholic community in Romania in the joy of this new beginning,” wrote Nicușor Dan, around 00:30, in a message published on his Facebook page, shortly after the conclusion of the electoral debate with George Simion, the leader of Gold, the other qualified candidate in the final.
