Will there be a revision of borders with the Czech Republic? Czech minister: We are open


The head of Czech diplomacy emphasized that his country is ready to negotiate regarding the designation of the border with the Republic of Poland. He also noted that possible conversations would have a constructive nature and would serve to find a compromise.
In the background there is still a dispute covering 368 hectares of land, the beginnings of which date back to the 1950s. Poland indicates that it was not included in the full extent in the arrangements with the former Czechoslovakia, hence the will to reconsider this issue.

Representatives of the Polish government recently announced that they finally want to close the outstanding territorial matters. In connection with The Czech minister stated that this is one of the few cases dividing both countries and declared full openness to any negotiations.
The portal reminded that in the past Poland has rejected the compensation offer. Then a list of lands was created, from which the Czechs finally withdrew.
“There is no new option on the table. All possible options have already been discussed, but now I would like to refer this matter to further expert discussions. That's probably all I can say about it” – said Jan Lipavsky.
