UniCredit Leasing signs a strategic financing partnership with Chinese car manufacturer Byd

UniCredit Leasing announced on Thursday that a new Strategic Partnership with ByD – World leader in the production of alternative propulsion vehicles, which comes as part of both companies to accelerate the transition to sustainable and efficient mobility, offering accessible financing solutions for customers who want to drive electric or hybrid cars.

“We are delighted to announce that UniCredit Leasing has been selected as an official financing partner in Romania for the END, a reference name in its field. This partnership will allow us to offer our customers quick and convenient access to some of the most advanced electric models on the market, with flexible financing options and extended benefits,” said Roxana Bujor.

Stella Li, Executive Vice President of the END, added: “By this collaboration with UniCredit Leasing, we intend to eliminate financial barriers for customers interested in electric technology, supporting the transition to a cleaner future.”

The partnership comes at a time when the demand for electric and hybrid vehicles in Romania is constantly increasing, supported by government programs such as Rabla Plus and the increasing interest for ecological transport solutions.

Byd, the most ambitious Chinese car producer, officially comes to Romania this spring and wants to reach a network of at least 20 dealers. Byd has two factories in Europe, and last year he sold over 4 million cars worldwide. The first model brought to us will be atto 2.

Byd builds electric car factories in Hungary and Turkey and discusses the idea of ​​having a plant in Germany, wrote Reuters recently.

The Byd factory in Hungary should start production in October 2025, and the one in Turkey could be operational at the beginning in March 2026. When they will operate at maximum capacity, these factories will be able to produce 500,000 cars per year.

The car manufacturer Byd, originally from China, officially enters Romania since May, writes the publication of autocritica.ro.

Several models will be introduced gradually, including the new Byd Sealion 7 and the byd Seal U DM-I, but an important step will be done by launching a direct competitor for Dacia Spring.

Byd relies strongly on electric cars and plans to launch at least 20 dealers in the country. Andrei Duică is in charge of the new national entity, who worked in Trust Motors, importer Peugeot, Citroen and Opel locally.

The plans stipulate that within a maximum of five years, the byd will become a leader of sales, even in front of the local producer. The intentions were communicated by the vice-president of the company, Mrs. Stella Li.

Byd announced on Monday an improved platform for electric vehicles with an architecture of 1,000 volts, which, according to it, could charge the electric vehicles as quickly as it is filled with the tank of a classic gasoline car.
