The biggest military exercise this year: MAPN announces that trips of troops and fighting technique on the roads in the country

The army announces that several military columns will travel around the country in the next period for the largest military exercise so far, Dacian Spring 2025.

“Between 5 and 23, there are technique and troops on the territory of Romania, during the multinational exercise Dacian Spring 2025 (DASP 25),” announces MApN.

On the days of 16-17, movements of the units within the NATO fighting group are planned to Cincu to Smârdan and trips of some Spanish allied structures at Frucăţei to Smârdan and Cincu.

Military technique trips at night

“These operational activities are carried out within the scenario of the exercise and contribute to increasing the cohesion and mobility of the participating forces. To limit the impact on local communities and road traffic, most of the trips take place at night,” the Ministry of Defense reports.

“Multinational exercises such as DASP 25 and its components, including Scorpions Legacy 2025 (SCLE 25), are defensive, transparent and are carried out with full respect for international commitments made by Romania,” the MApN reports.

Dacian Spring 2025, the biggest military exercise so far

About 4,000 soldiers and 913 technical means from 10 allied states – Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Northern Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain, participate in this extensive allied exercise, held in the polygons in Smârdan, Cincu, Capu Midia, Bogata and Freca.

“DASP 25 is planned and led by the Southeast Division Multinational Command (HQ MND) and has as main objective the consolidation of the collective defense capacity and the strengthening of the cohesion between the allied structures. Within it, the Belgian maneuver battalion on the territory of Romania takes place, according to the MAPN.
