“In December, a coalition ruling with two goals was created: providing a stable government and choosing a candidate who will win the presidential election in Romania. We were unable to achieve one of these two goals. “Instead of allowing the future president to replace me (who else), I decided to give up himself,” said Ciolacu after the PSD meeting.
Earlier, the media unofficially reported a decision that was made at the “crisis meeting” PSD. Ministers from this party are to perform their functions temporarily until the establishment of a new coalition. After President Ilie Bolojan is to appoint a temporary prime minister. The new coalition will be built only after the presidential election as part of negotiations between parties and the future head of state.
PSD does not intend to support any of the candidates in the second round
