The gold leader starts in round 2 with a huge advance in front of Nicușor Dan, of over 1.8 million votes, when there were 5% of the bulletins.

George Simion, the gold candidate who also has the support of Călin Georgescu, has collected over 3.6 million votes (over 40% of the total), more than double than he received in November 2024.

Then, Simion took 1,281,325 votes, and Călin Georgescu won the first round with 2,120,401 votes.

The two collected a total of 3,401,726 in the first round of 2024, about 200,000 less than George Simion took on these elections. This is when the presence of now was almost similar to that of 2024.

“When 40% of Romanians vote for George Simion, this is a verdict that I, as Democrat, can not be challenged,” said Crin Antonescu on Sunday, when he acknowledged his defeat in front of Nicușor Dan.

George Simion starts in round 2, which will take place on May 18, with a huge advance: over 1.8 million votes compared to the second ranking, Nicușor Dan, mayor of Bucharest.
