Calin Georgescu finds out today if he escapes judicial control in the file in which he is investigated for six crimes

The District Court 1 is expected to rule on Monday in the case of the complaint filed by Călin Georgescu against the decision of the prosecutors to extend the judicial control in the file in which he is criminally investigated for six offenses, the one who is serious to instigate actions against the Constitutional Order..
The court had to be initially pronounced on April 30, but it postponed for today the decision in the case of the complaint filed by Călin Georgescu.
On April 24, Călin Georgescu was called to the General Prosecutor's Office to inform the extension by another 30 days of the measure of judicial control. Later, Georgescu submitted, at the District Court 1, a complaint against the decision of the prosecutors to extend the judicial control.
During this measure, Călin Georgescu must be presented periodically to the Ilfov County Police Inspectorate and has several prohibitions, including leaving the country without the approval of the judicial authorities and is not allowed to post on the social networks contained with a legionary, fascist, anti -Semitic, racist or Xenofob.
Calin Georgescu also challenged the measure of judicial control and at the end of February, but the District 1 Court rejected, as unfounded, the request to raise the judicial control in the same file.
On February 26, the Prosecutor's Office near the ICCJ announced the start of the criminal action against Călin Georgescu for six offenses, the most serious being that of notifying actions against the constitutional order, in tempted form. The same day, Călin Georgescu was raised from traffic on the basis of a warrant and heard in the package.
The former presidency candidate is accused of setting up a plan to destabilize Romania with the help of mercenaries led by Horațiu Potra, after the Constitutional Court annulled in 2024 the results of the first round for the highest function in the state.
The offenses for which Calin Georgescu is being prosecuted:
- Instigation to actions against constitutional order, in tempted form
- Communication of fake information
- false in statements in continuous form
- The initiation or establishment of an organization of a fascist, racist or xenophobic character, adherence or support, in any form, of such a group
- The promotion, in the public, of the cult of persons guilty of committing genocide offenses against humanity and war crimes, as well as the act of promoting, in public, ideas, fascist, legionary, racist or xenophobic doctrines.
- the initiation or establishment of an anti -Semitic organization, the accession or support, in any form, of such an organization.
