The calendar in Formula 1 will also include the race in Miami at least until 2041, the contract due in 2031 being extended by 10 years.
The big prize in Miami appeared in the F1 calendar for the first time in 2022, based on a contract valid for 10 years. The agreement between the organizer and Formula 1 was extended by 10 years, until 2041, and the announcement came today, with all the attention on the city of Florida, given that the big prize will take place on Sunday evening.
In the announcement of the extension agreement, Formula 1 claims that “this race had a significant impact on the local economy and community, generating over $ 1 billion as an economic impact in its first 3 years.”
The Miami race will remain in Formula 1 at least until 2041
Stefano Domenicali, the president and the F1 CEO, said that “in just 3 years, the big prize in Miami has imposed as one of the most important and spectacular events in our calendar, an extraordinary example of quality and vision that represents the spirit and ambition in the United States.”
The race takes place on Miami International Autodrome, a circuit surrounding Hard Rock Stadium, stretched on 3,363 kilometers and sprinkled with 19 turns.
In the first two years, 2022 and 2023, Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) won the race. In 2024, the winner was Lando Norris (McLaren).
