The Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Andrii Sîbiha, said in the country's Parliament on Friday that in a peace agreement, he will not accept restrictions on domestic and external politics, including the choice of alliances he wants to adhere to, reports the publication of Ukrainska Pravda, quoted by News.ro.

Sîbiha said that Ukraine will not agree with “peace at any cost” and called the red lines in the peace negotiations, which “remain clear and unchanged.”

“First of all, we will not accept the recognition as a Russian of any territory of Ukraine temporarily,” he said.

Also, Ukraine will not limit the structure or size of its army, will not reduce the defense industry, military assistance from the Allies or the presence of their contingents, pointed out the head of diplomacy.

“Thirdly, we will not accept any restrictions on the sovereignty of Ukraine, our internal and external policy, especially regarding the choice of allies and alliances we want to adhere to,” stressed the Foreign Minister.

“Russia or any other country does not have and will not have the right to oppose our choice.”

According to him, despite the fact that there is no consensus between allies on Ukraine's accession to NATO, Kiev will continue to “work actively to achieve this.”

“However, Russia or any other country does not have and will not have the right to oppose our choice,” said Sîbiha.

In recent weeks, the Trump administration has tried to force the “peace process” between Ukraine and Russia and, according to the press, would have prepared a “final proposal” for a peaceful settlement. Among other things, the US is ready to recognize Russia's control over the Ukrainian Crimea and reduce sanctions against Moscow.

At the same time, Washington diplomacy indicated that in the absence of concrete reconciliation proposals, he is ready to take a step back and no longer mediate the cessation of the war.
