The draft laws on registered partnerships and introducing partnerships on Wednesday for the second time went to the permanent committee of the Council of Ministers. He did not reject this projects, but he did not accept them either.

“It is necessary to continue the work. Most of the comments of the ministry have been agreed. We have also accepted those submitted by the Government Legislation Center, including the name – from now it will be + Act on partnerships + – whether resignation by definition of partnerships, which we have already proposed in the first version of the project” – said Minister for equality Katarzyna Kotula. “In addition, we must verify the data that the Ministry of Finance questions,” she added.

She explained that it was about data that was included in the assessment of the effects of regulation, and which team preparing the draft laws on partnerships received from, among others institutions such as the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund. “We asked for recalculating some data. After receiving it – if necessary – we will make amendments to the OSR. The Ministry of Finance has no objections to the Act,” Kotula said.

She added that in the course of work on the project, many comments from PSL politicians were taken into account, including those regarding the potential field to abuse. “That's why we decided to + seal + partnerships, including by resolving them through courts. And at the same time the Ministry of Justice is working on regulations that would allow marriages to be resolved outside the courts” – noted the Minister for Equality.

At the moment, it is not known when the project will be re -proceeded on the RM's permanent committee.

“Perhaps we will be able to bring the project to such a state that it will not be necessary to send it to the legal commission and will go straight to the government's meeting,” said Katarzyna Kotula. “I hope that the Act on partnerships will be ready to sign – as one of the first – by the new president or president,” she added.

The draft act on partnerships and the Act introducing partnerships were published on the pages of the Government Legislative Center in October last year. They assume changes to over 200 applicable laws. People who conclude a partnership – both the same and different sexes – will be able to take the common name, settle together at the Tax Office, and will also gain the right to medical information about themselves, inheritance after themselves and the burial of a partner or partner. In the course of previous social consultations and inter -ministerial arrangements, over 6,000 were reported to projects. comments.
