The first debate with the participation of all candidates under the sign of controversial statements

Abortion law, housing policy, migration and defense are some of the topics of the “Super Express” debate, the first with the participation of all presidential candidates. Discussions overshadowed the controversial statements of Grzegorz Braun and Maciej Maciak. Magdalena Biejat announced the notification of the prosecutor's office after Braun's words.

The “Super Express” debate was the first in this campaign with the participation of all 13 registered presidential candidates. The formula was also new – each candidate asked three candidates after one question, two of which he indicated himself, and the name of the third was drawn earlier. In the second round, the candidates had 90 seconds for a summary and statements.
Among the topics about which the candidates asked their competitors were, among others: migration policy, security, including defense expenditure and consumption to the army, migration policy, housing, acceptance of the euro in Poland, abortion law, state-housing relations.
The candidate supported by PiS Karol Nawrocki was asked, among others about your announcements regarding catastral tax. “I will be your defender against catastral tax. (…) This is a thing I have also declared in my tax contract with Poles,” said Nawrocki to the viewers. He pointed out that it was necessary to limit the pathology of having a dozen or so apartments. Left candidate Magdalena Biejat accused him that she did not know what she was talking about. She explained that the tribute to the third place would be used to limit the treatment of apartments like deposits. “You say nonsense because most people do not have three, four, five apartments,” noted Biejat.
Krzysztof Stanowski (journalist) accused the candidate of Ko Rafał Trzaskowski, the lack of consistency in the matter of migrants on the Polish-Belarusian border. “I missed the moment when the migrants, which we should comfort, and aggressive invaders began,” said Stanowski. Trzaskowski replied that empathy does not conflict with a hard position towards the border.
Marek Jakubiak (MP of the Free Republicans Circle) asked Trzaskowski whether as a president he would sign laws liberalizing abortion provisions, the act on partnerships and solutions that allow for the adoption of children for homosexual couple. The candidate KO repeated that he was in favor of an abortion right until the twelfth week of pregnancy. He added that he was also behind the Act on partnerships.
The issue of abortion law was also raised by Biejat, who asked the confederation candidate Sławomir Mentzen, or a 14-year-old girl raped by her uncle should have the right to interrupt pregnancy. Mentzen replied that such cases happen about once a year. According to him, that they would happen less often, you cannot massively let in migrants from Asia or Africa, as in his opinion the current government does. He also stated that the current abortion law in Poland allows a situation in which a child was murdered in the hospital in Oleśnica in the 9th month of pregnancy. Biejat noticed that the girl she mentioned was raped by her uncle, not a migrant. Referring to the situation from Oleśnica, she indicated that the pregnancy could have been interrupted earlier, but the doctors lied to the patient for half pregnancy. “A child who would be born suffered from brittle bone type 2. He would die a few days after giving birth in terrible torment,” she added.
Stanowski asked the Marshal of the Sejm, the candidate of the third way Szymon Hołownia to the evolution of his views regarding the adoption of the euro currency in Poland. According to Standy, until recently Hołownia was in favor of, and during the election campaign he changed his mind. The Marshal of the Sejm pointed out that the adoption of the euro is not a dogma, but the commitment we undertook to enter the EU. He emphasized that with the adoption of this currency you should wait for the right conditions. He added that these conditions changed from his earlier statements. “The euro should be suspended until our economy and competitive surroundings will allow you to think about it. Now does not allow and the end of history,” said Hołownia.
Hołownia and Adrian Zandberg (party Together) accused Trzaskowski that his grouping blocking solutions to prevent the filling of state -owned companies according to the party key. Ko candidate replied that it is very easy to distance himself from what the government is doing at the moment and attack him from a comfortable position. He pointed out that the Speaker of the Sejm is a “second person” in the ruling coalition and bears greater responsibility for what is happening at the moment in state -owned companies. Trzaskowski emphasized that he is and will be in favor of solutions establishing the highest standards in Sp.
The greatest controversy was the statements of two candidates Maciej Maciak (candidate of the Welfare and Peace Movement) and Grzegorz Braun (MEP excluded from the Confederation). Marek Jakubiak asked Maciak if he admires the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. “Yes. Each of us here in Poland would not be able to withstand such pressure. It shows that he is a very good politician,” replied Maciak. After these words, there was a shout from the “applause for Putin” room.
Trzaskowski reacted to the words of Maciak and applause after his speech. “What we have just heard is something unbelievable. I mean when Putin murders people, murders children, allows rape in Ukraine, at the moment to clap Putin, I really didn't see something like that, how I live. I think that at least in this one case we all stand here (…)” – said Trzaskowski.
In turn, Grzegorz Braun stated during the debate that “Glory to God” Poland is not bordering the “Jewish state located in Palestine.” He assessed that “then a genocidal policy advertised by ministers, rabbis and generals of the State of Israel could easily turn against us.” He also stated that “the State of Israel is made to Poles as an ally, as some aircraft carrier of European civilization in the Middle East.”
“It is outrageous that it is allowed that the anti -Semitic sewage presented by Mr. Braun at the very beginning of the debate passed in this studio in this studio. These are scandalous words and they should never have a place in the public debate, because there is no excuse to apply anti -Semitism,” she reacted to these words.
Later in the debate, Braun said to Trzaskowski that this few days ago he was “Forelated by a Jewish daffodil, this sign of disgrace.” “What are you talking about? What disgrace? It was an uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto. What are you talking about? These are the heroes of our history. It's something unbelievable. I will not listen to it,” said Trzaskowski, then turned and left the rostrum before the time he intended.
After the debate, Biejat announced that she would submit a notification to the prosecutor's office “for hate speech, spreading aggression, hate call” on the part of Braun. Biejat emphasized that it was particularly outrageous that Grzegorz Braun's anti -Semitic words were made by most of the debate without comments.
The debate was acknowledged at X, bosses of the two largest parties. PO leader, Prime Minister Donald Tusk, during the debate, assessed that Rafał Trzaskowski was winning her, and in the formula “everyone on one”.
In turn, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński decided that Karol Nawrocki is the undisputed winner of the clash, who in his opinion showed that he was able to lead Poland and Poles. Kaczyński added that during the debate he noticed a lot of misfortune, because – as he said – “stupidity in politics and misunderstanding of the mechanisms of democracy and modern times is misfortune.” “Among the confusion and strange claims, extremely insolent lies were particularly striking, with a special distinction of the defense of the border. The most intense attack on it took place in our time. We created the grounds to repel him, they were then angry,” wrote Kaczyński.
MP of the Confederation Grzegorz Płaczek emphasized: “The important presidential debate has ended. Sławomir Mentzen strongly and accurately. He is very consistent in his views and as he proves, he is not afraid to fight for national values. He is not afraid of difficult topics and during emotional debate he kept political culture. It is a pity that some opponents cannot stop their emotions. This absolutely requires. “
The “Super Express” debate was the fourth debate of candidates in the ongoing campaign. In the previous three (two in Końskie and one in the Republika Television studio in Warsaw), all candidates did not participate.
The Monday debate was also attended by Artur Bartoszewicz (economist), Joanna Senyszyn (former SLD MP, economist), Marek Woch (candidate of non -party local government officials). (PAP)
