According to the head of state, the initiative of the three seas acquires increased relevance and connectivity represents its essence, and the potential of our region is huge. Bolojan also said that Romania, through its geographical position and its economic capacity, plays an important role in this equation.

“I am glad to participate today in the Economic Forum of the Three Seas Initiative, a major project for our region. The theme of this panel – connectivity in the service of development – must be placed in the current context. Which we take at this stage will determine not only the future of the initiative of the three seas, but also the future of Europe ”, Bolojan said, according to the Presidential Administration.

The interim president mentioned that “the reconfiguration of the political and economic forces globally requires the consolidation of the partnerships with all the countries interested in the stability and prosperity of our region.”

“In these circumstances, the initiative of the three seas acquires increased relevance. Connectivity represents its essence, and the potential of our region is huge. Romania, through its geographical position and its economic capacity, plays an important role in this equation,” said the head of state.

Ilie Bolojan presented some priority directions for Romania.

About energy interconnection, Bolojan said that, in collaboration with companies in the private environment, Romania has managed to develop important energy projects.

“The plan for the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at the Cernavoda nuclear power plant takes important steps, and in the field of natural gas operating in the Black Sea, the Neptun Deep Strategic Project is essential for regional energy security, and we estimate that production will start in 2027. It is essential to develop energy, and to increase energy, The gas transport corridors at regional level, Romania capitalize on their strategic position ”, stressed the president.

Ilie Bolojan also stated that “the Iasi -Chisinau gas pipeline and the other projects in progress to ensure the energy security of the Republic of Moldova allow its supply with electricity and natural gas largely from Romania”.

The interim president also referred to the transport infrastructure.

“The North-Sud transport corridors remain insufficiently developed. For Romania, the road and railway infrastructure projects remain via Carpathia and Rail-2-Sse. Black, confirms its strategic position, as an important knot of the international transport corridor Europe -Caucasus.
