Fragrant, with crispy cheese crust-this should be the classic onion soup in French. It is prepared from simple ingredients, which do not need to fly to another country. But the taste of this dish will definitely transfer you to a cozy Parisian bistro.
Here's what we need:
- 6 large yellow bulbs
- 50 g butter
- 1 l of beef broth
- 150 ml of dry white wine
- 1 tsp. Sahara
- 1 baguette
- 150 g of cheese
- salt, pepper to taste
How to cook soup:
In a thick -walled pan, we melt the oil, add onion, cut into thin half rings, and languish over medium heat for 15 minutes, stirring. Then we reduce the fire to a minimum, add sugar and continue to cook for another 40 minutes, until the onion becomes golden-punished.
Pour the wine, evaporate almost completely. Then add the broth, bring to a boil, salt and pepper. Cook under the lid for 20 minutes. We cut the baguette with slices, dry in the oven. Pour the soup in heat -resistant pots, put the croutons on top, sprinkle abundantly with grated cheese.
We put in the oven for 5-7 minutes at 200 ° C, until the cheese melts and is browned. It is better to serve the soup right away while the cheese hat crunches. This recipe is checked by generations of French cooks.
