Portugal is affected, along with Spain and part of France, by a massive electric current, which caused chaos in road traffic, as well as in the railway. A Romanian established in Lisbon described for Hotnews the atmosphere in the Portuguese capital.

Constantin, who has been living in Lisbon for several years, said that the authorities have not announced any cause of the power peri, no estimated time when the problem will be solved.

While Portuguese officials announced emergency meetings, many people went out on the streets. The Portuguese publication Correio a Manha writes that it is “Portugal is paralyzed: chaos on the streets, police mermaids, flights over the head and hospitals that work with generators”.

“Almost all the stores and all the restaurants are closed. There are many people who are just sitting on the street and there is a lot of traffic and there are many police sirens,” the Romanian situation in the Portuguese capital described.

All subway stations were closed, after some trains stopped in tunnels. Neither the yellow trams of Lisbon, often photographed by tourists, no longer circulate.

The cause of the current feather is unknown at this time. Red Eléctrica, the public company responsible for connecting in Spain, said that until the current is “an exceptional incident, caused by a very high fluctuation of the energy flow from the network”, which led to the disconnection of Spain from the European Electric System.

The Spanish utility company has announced that the situation will be completely remedied between 6 and 10 hours.
