Vladimir Putin announces a humanitarian armistice, in Ukraine, between May 8 and 11, on the occasion of 80 years since the end of World War II.

“By the decision of the supreme commander of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, based on humanitarian considerations, on the days of the 80th anniversary of Victoria, the Russian part declares cessation of fire“, He announced the Kremlin's press service, according to Focus.

The Russian army stressed that Kiev should follow this example. In case of fire termination violations by Ukraine, Russian armed forces “They will provide an adequate and efficient response,” the Kremlin informed.

“Russia believes that Ukraine should follow the example and also declare an armistice at the 80th anniversary of Victoria,” the Kremlin said.

Currently, there is no reaction from Ukrainian to Kremlin's statements.

The Victory Day, celebrated on May 9, marks the defeat by the Soviet Union of Nazi Germany as it is known as the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
