Experts explained what dangers early strawberries carry and how to choose a useful berry. They shared the advice in The Krasnoyarsk branch of the Federal Center for Safety and Quality Assessment of Products of the Agro -Industrial Complex.
Tatyana Slypova, head of the testing laboratory, notes that to protect strawberries from pests, such as weevils, guns and aphids, as well as from various diseases, including rot and spotting, farmers resort to insecticides and fungicides. In addition, chemistry is used to accelerate the growth and maturation of berries.
Exceeded doses of nitrogen -containing fertilizers when growing berries can lead to serious health problems. The residual substances of pesticides are especially dangerous if their concentration is higher than permissible.
“As a result, not only poisoning, but also impaired functions of the gastrointestinal tract, the respiratory system and the central nervous system are possible. These risks arise precisely due to non-compliance with manufacturers of established regulations and requirements for the use of chemicals, ”the expert notes.
It is best to buy strawberries from local manufacturers in the ripening season – such berries do not require conservation and long -term transportation. It is important to choose sellers with quality certificates and have passed the safety of products. Preference should be given ripe, whole and dry berries. Real strawberries have a characteristic aroma without impurity of extraneous smells.
We add that now the first strawberries from Kyrgyzstan are sold in Krasnoyarsk. You can find options worth in the region of 1700 rubles per box (approximately 2 kg). At the same time, the field berry matures only in May – now, probably, sellers sell strawberries from greenhouses.
