There is a lack of doctors in Portugal. Hospitals in Lisbon have been paralyzed

According to the information of the Ministry of Health, the main problem is a deficiency of doctors and nurses in gynecology, pediatrics and obstetrics.
According to Portuguese medical services, due to the closing of the emergency room, one of the births in the capital's agglomeration had to take place in an ambulance. All in all, as the SIC television estimated, from January this year. 23 newborns were born in the ambulances. The vast majority of mothers were not admitted to childbirth to the hospital.
According to the information of the Ministry of Health, Portugal shows that the paralysis of hospital emergency rooms results from the lack of enough medics during the holiday season and during long weekends. The ministry reminded that Friday was a day off from work because of the state holiday, the so -called Day of freedom.
From Saturday, the limitation of patients' admission to hospitals, in addition to Lisbon, has been recorded, among others in Setubal, Leiria, Santar, Barreiro, Vila Franca de Xira, Almaad and in Loures.
