Romania, defeated by Japan in a training match

As a preparation for the World Championship, Romania has played a single friendly, even with Japan. The Asians opened the score in the 12th minute, through Suzuki Fuji, but in the next half hour, the tricolors scored twice, through Reszegh Tamas (min. 32) and Sandor-Szekely Otto (min. 42).

In the last 10 minutes of the match, Suzuki Fuji once more scored and Sato Hiroto gave the goal that brought the victory of Japan: 3-2.

“It was very good. It's just the first match after we started the preparations. It was a tight match, we could win, but maybe we win at the World Championship. It was really a very long and tiring season. I think everyone came prepared and willing to put everything on ice. We see what comes out“, Declared Balazs Gajdo, who said that a realistic objective is to remain in Group A.

You can never be happy for a defeat, but I am satisfied because I played better during the match. It was a first half in which it was felt that the boys had just met again.

Hockey is a funny game, I think the third half, in which I scored two goals, was our best. It's happening! The mistakes I made in this match are easy to correct. We have a lot to build in the next few days, but there are many positive aspects that we can do and we will continue to work!

We will put things in the workouts of the next three, four days, we will work what we want to play! As long as the boys will be combative, as it happened in this match, we will be fine!

The boys need to re -modiate each other, get used to the lines. It was a balanced match, they beat us now, we hope we will defeat them in the next match, the official one!

– Dave Macqueen, head coach of Romania

All matches at the World Hockey Championship, Division I/A, will be broadcast live on TVR Sport.
