When I hear the Final Four the Champions League for women's handball, CSM Bucharest's fans think about Isabelle Gullden. The 35 -year -old Swedish has just made the step towards a new job, the coach. He will be a second coach at Sävehof, the club that formed it. Bella gave an interview with the Sports Gazette and spoke about the new challenge, but also about Cristina Neagu's dream.

  • CSM Bucharest won the Multipurpose Tour Tour with the score of 31-30;
  • return Team Esbjerg – CSM Bucharest It is scheduled on Sunday, from 5:00 pm;
  • The Final Four of the Champions League is scheduled on May 31 and June 1, in Budapest.

The last great Romanian performance in team sports dates back to May 8, 2016. CSM Bucharest defeated Gyor in the Champions League final. The table showed 22-22 at the end of the regular time. The “tigerice” were imposed after the execution of the breaks.

The evening was a memorable one for Isabelle Gullden. The Swedish coordinator scored 15 of the 22 goals of CSM Bucharest and has definitely entered the hearts of “tricolor” fans.

He went to Brest, Vipers and Lugi. Recently announced his withdrawal from his career as a new challenge. He returned home to Savehof, the club that formed it. He will be a second coach.

As jovial as always and with the characteristic dose of humor, Gullden accepted a dialogue with the Sports Gazette. He made a comparison between Cristina Neagu and Henny Reistad and analyzed CSM's chances.

Isabelle Gullden, an interview for GSP.ro: “When I ran to Mika, it was the most beautiful feeling in history!”

– Bella, first of all, congratulations for a great career! Are you ready for a new chapter in your life?
– I'm ready for a new chapter of my life. I loved every second of my career, but now it's time to do something else.

– You chose to stay in the phenomenon …
– Yes, I will be a second coach at the club where I grew up, Sävehof.

– In 2016, you had a historical match and brought the Champions League trophy to Romania. What memories do you have from that period?
– I have the most beautiful memories of that match. All the Romanian fans who were there, shouting and encouraging. The match itself was very intense. And after the last throw from 7 meters, When I could run to Mika, who marked the last shot, it was the most beautiful feeling I have ever experienced on a handball field.

-You know that moment has transformed you into one of the most beloved players in Romania. Do you still get messages from fans?
– I don't get so much anymore, but I really felt love when I was there. They still have a special place in my heart and I will wear them with me forever.

– By the way, have you visited Romania in recent years?
– I played against Valcii in 2020, but so much. But I will come back soon!

– In the meantime, CSM Bucharest is almost close to the Final Four. Following is the decisive sleeve with Esbjerg. Have you watched the first match?
– Of course. I have always watched the matches. I love handball so I look a lot. It will be difficult at Esbjerg, but I think this season the team works better together, and from the outside it seems that there is more harmony.

– It will be a special match for Cristina Neagu. She will retire at the end of the season.
– Yes, it will not only be a difficult match, but also an emotional one. But I'm pretty sure it will do everything you can to not be the last!

– The match with Esbjerg also sparked an interesting discussion in the Romanian handball, about Neagu, Reistad and Gulldén. How do you see this comparison?
– We are three completely different players, so it's hard to make a comparison. Neagu has the best shot I have ever seen in the female handball, the best thrower in history, and Reistad is incredible in one-to-one-phase duels. I don't know why my name is there, ha-ha, but I think I'm a classic playmaker.

  • The same said about Neagu and Henny Reistadthe best handball player in the world in the last two years: “Cristina, I have to tell you that you have been a true source of inspiration in your career. You are certainly the best thrower in history. I carry a great respect for the way you have evolved. I do not know how many years have passed! Many years! You have to be very proud of you.”

Isabelle Gullden, prepared for the new career

Going back to my soul club after 14 years is an incredibly special feeling. This club formed me, not only as a player, but also as a person. Now I have the opportunity to give something back. I look forward to contributing as a coach, not only to the development of players on the field, but also as individuals outside it. As the club formed me once, I want to help create the same opportunities for the next generation
