In the Central District of Krasnoyarsk, a monument was opened to the Hero of the Soviet Union Andrei Vasilievich Vodikov.
The residents of Pokrovka themselves asked to improve the territory. The work began in 2023. At first, with the support of the company Rusal, the territory was put in order, which had previously been an abandoned wasteland. It managed to quickly turn it into a cozy square – paths were laid, trees were planted, benches and lighting were installed.
Locals recalled that there was a square nearby, named, like the street, in honor of the hero of the USSR Andrei Vasilievich Vodiannikov. The trees in it were planted by fellow soldiers who came to Krasnoyarsk in the 1980s, and then a bust on a granite pedestal was installed there. But several years ago, the square was renamed the square of surveyors. Therefore, the initiative group proposed eating a new monument in a well -maintained territory.
“Fifty years ago, the street in the residential area Pokrovsky was named after Andrei Vodyannikov. Thanks to the active position of the inhabitants, the financial support of Rusal, we implemented a project confirming the inextricable connection of times and generations.
In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, along with labor veterans, his fighters, representatives of the police, deputies of the City Council opened a monument, personifying the feat of the Soviet people. Memory has no statute of limitations. Let the connection of generations, united by Victory Day, lives forever, ”said Vladislav Loginov, who opened a monument to the mayor of Krasnoyarsk.
A large number of residents of the district gathered at the event, participants in the movement “Post No. 1”, Yunarmeytsy, as well as schoolchildren and pupils of kindergarten.
