Following the death of Pope Francis, the Government of Romania, led by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, will decrete the day of national mourning for Saturday, April 26, when the funeral of the Pontiff will take place. However, the program of Superliga parties and the 2nd League will not be influenced, which will respect the initial programming.
In the Government decision signed by Marcel Ciolacu there is no reference to the fact that the cultural, artistic and sports events scheduled for mourning days are postponed.

The Government Decision on the National Mourning Day will not influence the program of the Superliga Parties and the 2nd League

The Government Decision regarding the declaration of the day of April 26, 2025 day of national mourning on the territory of Romania
As with the last decree national mourning, the Executive has made a derogation.
Then, Romania had three days of national mourning in the memory of King Mihai (December 14-16, 2017), and the sports events were not affected. Instead, all parties in L1 and L2 were preceded by moments of silence in the memory of the former monarch.
On April 26, 2025 the radio and television stations, as well as the cultural institutions, will adapt their program properly.
