The website compared the prices of products at the New York SUPERMART supermarket and the Moscow store of the Auchan network, and when converting prices it used the official exchange rate of the Russian Central Bank of April 10.

The price comparison shows that Moscow has surpassed the American metropolis in terms of fish, cheese, milk and some vegetables. For a liter of milk in a Moscow store you have to pay almost 100 rubles, while American milk costs 83 rubles per liter. Cheddar cheese in Moscow costs 209 rubles for 200 grams, while in New York – 193 rubles for 226 grams. A frozen trout fillet can be purchased in Moscow for 980 rubles, and in Walmart – for 909 rubles. Tomatoes in Moscow cost at least 350 rubles per kilo, while in Walmart – 186 rubles.

In New York, apples Gala are more expensive (233 rubles per kg, 160 rubles in Moscow), chicken legs (in Moscow 270 rubles per kilo, in New York – 392 rubles), as well as Italian pasta and potatoes.

At the same time – noticed the Moscow Times – the inhabitants of New York earn 4.3 times more than the inhabitants of Moscow. (PAP)
