The drone operators at the 42 Separate Mechanized Brigade of Ukrainian forces, in the direction of the Torețk front sector, managed to follow and destroy a Russian Akhmat's Akhmat's Armored Vehicle, used for the transport of troops, while it is moving, which offers another demonstration of the DRONE DEPAV. (“First Person View”) in the modern war, writes the Ukrainian publication Defense Express on Friday.
The Ukrainian officers identified the armored vehicle while advanced along a supply route in the middle of the battles, on the East Front of Ukraine. Using small FPV drones, very maneuverable and equipped with explosive loads, they made several blows in a quick succession.
Each blow “was executed with surgical precision” and targeted the vulnerable points in the external armor of the Akhmat vehicle, according to a message published by the Ukrainian military on Thursday, April 17. Attacks have triggered secondary explosions in the vehicle's engine compartment.
As a result of these drone coordinated strokes, the armored transport vehicle “will not leave anywhere; now it is a bunch of carbonized scrap”, wrote the group of forces Hortitia, responsible for the Ukrainian defensive on that front sector, in the message published on the Telegram Messessry application.
The crew of the Russian vehicle Z-STS Akhmat was also “eliminated” after the attack, the Ukrainian soldiers supported.
At the end of March, the Ukrainian army noticed an increase in Russian pressure throughout the entire front, claiming that these intensified offensive actions have significant losses among Russian troops, while analysts confirmed that Ukrainian troops continue their recently launched operation on Russia.
The most intense area of confrontations is on the front sector near the city of Pokrovsk, also in the Donetk region, sector where the most and the hardest fights were recorded.
The Russian units did not make significant progress in the vicinity of this city, despite the attempts to regain the territory lost there following a series of Ukrainian counterattacks. Kiev does everything possible not to lose land on the front sector around Pokrovsk, as the fall in Russia of cocsifiable coal mines in that area would be a heavy blow to Ukraine's economy, EFE and Agerpres noted.
In contrast, Russian troops also managed to do at the end of March, local progress to the west of Kurahove and near Torețk, according to the Ukrainian platform for military analysis.
The most remarkable progress of the Russian army to represent the penetration in the town of Rozliv, where he threatens to cut the logistics route used by the Ukrainian troops who still fight in the nearby Kostantinopil.
