The company “RN-VAVKOR” (included in the structure of Rosneft), held a rally in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The route ran through the key objects of the Vostok Oil project – from the Vankorsky deposit to the port “Bay North” on the shores of the Kara Sea. Participants drove more than a thousand kilometers along the tundra, carrying a banner of victory.

During the journey, they made stops at production facilities, where they shared with colleagues memories of their relatives, the participants of the Second World War, and honored their memory with a minute of silence.

Materials on the topic

An important point of the route was the village of Dixon – the northernmost settlement of Russia and the only place in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where battles took place during the war. In August 1942, one of the most northern battles occurred here: the German cruiser Admiral Sheer attacked the port of Dixon, but was thrown back by Soviet troops. This battle became a symbol of the stamina and courage of the defenders of the North.

The rally in the port “Bay North” ended, where the participants honored the memory of the heroes, putting flowers to the memorial in honor of the 80th anniversary of Dixon's defense.
