US President Donald Trump intervened to prevent Elon Musk to receive a pentagon briefing about the plans of a possible war with China – Axios said on Wednesday. This happened after the March publication of “New York Times” on this topic.

According to Axios, Trump was surprised by the reports of “NYT” from March 20, when the journal reported that the next day his miliardler advisor was to receive a top secret briefing about the plans of a possible war with China in the Pentagon. Trump was to order advisers not to allow this.

“As for k … Elon does there? Make sure he wouldn't go there,” said the president. Shortly afterwards he posted an entry in social media in which he stated that the article “NYT” was “fake news”. Ultimately, Musk visited the next day Pentagon, but did not receive information about China.

Axios reports that the matter of leakage of plans on briefing was one of the reasons for the suspension of two leading advisers of the head of Pentagon Pete HegeSth – Dan Caldwell and Darina Selnicka in connection with an internal investigation of leaks of classified information.

The portal states that Musk's actions irritate many members of the Trump administration. The official cited by Axos argues that the president himself “still loves Elon, but there are some red lines.”

Despite the president's claims that reports about the planned briefing for Musk were “fake news”, Trump later told journalists that he would not want something like that to take place, because “Elon has a lot of interests in China and would be susceptible.”

The Tesla group managed by Muska has “gigafabryka” – the company's largest plant – in Shanghai and brings some parts from China. He also strives in the Beijing authorities for permission to enable “Full Self-Driving” in China. Reuters reported on Tuesday that in connection with the duties imposed on China, the company suspended the supply of components to Semi trucks and Cybercab, developed by Tesla, who intended to be an autonomous taxi. Musk opposes the duty and sharply attacked the main supporter of customs duties in Trump's administration, a commerce advisor Peter Navarro.
