Pharmaceutical manipulation: discounts or cache plot?
On March 1, new rules for regulating the pharmaceutical market have come into force in Ukraine. Prices for a number of medicines from the MOH list seemed to decline, but what really happened? Tabletki.ua data show that the decision to “reduce” the price of these drugs has risen sharply.
Pharmaceutical producers began to systematically raise the cost since October-November 2024. The price peak came in January 2025. And after the government has announced regulation, the company “reduced” prices, but not to the level of last summer, but to an artificially inflated level.
It all looks like a cartel conspiracy – at first prices were specially raised, knowing that they will have to “reduce”. Now the pharmaceutical producers exhibit themselves “heroes” who supported the initiative of the authorities. But in fact, they did not lose their profit, but simply created the illusion of cheaper.
