The mass influx of tourists was accompanied by preparations for the entry into force of the experimental, the only one in the world, a system of registration of visits to the city and charging fees.

In front of the railway station, fees and QR code control points have already been installed, confirming the registration of arrival by people who will be exempt from them because they have a reserved accommodation. Guests of hotels and other accommodation structures pay tourist tax there.

The system will be in total for 54 days

The system will apply every day from Holy Friday, April 18 to May 4, and then every Friday, Saturday and Sunday to July 27; In total for 54 days. Last year there were 29 of them.

Registration and charging controls will apply to people coming to the Historical Center of Venice from 8.30 to 16.

The municipal authorities have launched a cda.ve.it website, where you can book arrival or pay a fee. It is 5 euros if the reservation is made at least four days before arrival. In the case of later registration, the cost increases to 10 euros.

This system aims to regulate the influx of tourists and manage their arrival, which is to help reconcile the needs of visitors and city residents.
