The USR deputy, a member of the National Bureau, Cristina Pruna said on Sunday that it is unfair how the political support of Elena Lasconi was withdrawn from this presidential race, specifying that the stakes of the movement during the election campaign are some power.
Cristina Pruna, who during the meeting of the National Bureau in which it was decided to withdraw support for Elena Lasconi refused to vote, was asked on B1 TV which are the stakes of the USR, regarding this decision.
“There are some power. Sure, to take over the power in the USR, they were not happy with the fact that they had lost power and here they took this step. I find it regrettable once again, because in the end, first of all, before personal stakes, small political stakes, I think we have to think about Romania, The dear to support it.
The USR deputy mentioned that “some mature, responsible politicians are sitting at the table, wearing discussions, identifies the dangers.”
“Look at the last campaign, I had this gentleman Călin Georgescu who arrived in round 2 and arrived because of the irresponsibility of the politicians in power. Or what we had to prove now is just responsibility and the fact that we think about people. Campaign with one candidate, ”she said.

The leaders of USR, Dominic Fritz and Ionuț Moșteanu, announced last week that the political formation withdraws the political support of Elena Lasconi, the USR candidate who appears on the ballots, in favor of the independent candidate Nicușor Dan.
The decision was taken in full election campaign, invoking two opinion polls that give Lasconi by 4% in the intention to vote, much lower than the mayor of the capital. There were 16 votes “for”, two against, and 5 were present, but they did not want to vote, including Cristina Pruna.
USR representatives claimed that the decision was made due to “clear principles”: the support of the pro -European candidate who has “most chances” to enter the second round.
Cristina Pruna, who is the supporter of Elena Lasconi, told Digi 24 that it was a better solution for the party to wait a few weeks.
“It is not a good situation for the USR to have 2 representatives who are quarreling publicly, but for the truth it is good to know all the points of view. The national office did not make the decision to withdraw Lasconi, nor has this prerogative. It made the decision and I counted through those who did not vote in protest. The political committee can make the decision of political strategy.
BEC decided on Saturday that USR is not allowed to make any election campaign in favor of independent candidate Nicușor Dan, following a gold notification. The Union stated on Sunday that the decision at the Bucharest Court of Appeal will be appealed.
