Brokers escape the fee to ASF at RCA revenue by June 30, 2025. With what money they remain in sales

RCA prices will remain capped by the end of September 2024
Insurance brokers will no longer pay for the first two quarter of this year the fee of 0.1% on commissions revenues for the sale of compulsory RCA insurance, which it owes to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), according to a decision published on Thursday in the Official Gazette. The measure came to the UNSICAR request, the Union of Insurance Broker, against the background of prolonging the RCA prices and the distribution commission collected by brokers at these policies.
Initially, the brokers asked for exemption from the payment of this tax for the first quarter of this year, but after ASF proposed the extension of the RCA pricing until June 30, 2025, UNSICAR requested that the tax exemption will also apply in this year's quarter, as previously stated for HotNews.ro Dorel Duță.
Brokers will remain with over 400,000 lei from RCA sales
Basically brokers will no longer pay the tax of 0.1% of the commissions revenues for the sale of RCA policies, a contribution that is paid quarterly.
- “If we think about the impact, we can compare the revenues from RCA in the semester 1 2024 which were 400,103,077 lei and results in an amount of 400,103 lei that remained in brokers after the payment of 0.1%.
- It is not much, but any measure that comes to the support of the brokers is welcome, because we have come out the most affected in this ceiling.
- Why? Because if we refer to the insurance premiums it was a freeze freezing at a certain time, according to the law, while in the case of brokers there was a ceiling at a fixed amount, ”said HotNews.ro Dorel Duță.
A temporary measure to suspend the payment of contributions by insurers and brokers was taken for 6 months, immediately after the bankruptcy at Euroins in the spring of 2023.
The brokers will no longer pay temporarily to the ASF the tax on the RCA sale. Broker chief: We were most affected by pricing capping
